Biography
Hood Dawson is an associate in the firm’s Greenville, South Carolina, office. His civil litigation practice includes premises liability, insurance law, commercial litigation, products liability, and general negligence in state and federal courts.
Hood graduated from The University of South Carolina with a Bachelor of Arts in History. He then received his Juris Doctor from the West Virginia University College of Law. During law school, he served as a student editor of the West Virginia Law Review. He also served as a student attorney for indigent individuals in the community, representing clients in matters including construction defect, adoption, and preparation of wills.
Prior to joining Gallivan, White & Boyd, Hood clerked for the Honorable Edward W. Miller in the circuit court in Greenville. He then worked for the Public Defender Offices in Greenville and Lexington, South Carolina. Following his time in public service, Hood has been practicing civil litigation in private practice for several years. He has represented individuals, large and small corporations, and insurance companies regarding premises liability, automobile collisions, commercial trucking collisions, employment matters, business disputes, construction defects, property disputes, and a variety of other matters in state and federal court. Through his experience, he has tried a number of cases to verdict and argued many motions on behalf of his clients.
In his free time, Hood enjoys spending time with his family and friends, usually while suffering heartbreak at the hands of his beloved South Carolina Gamecocks.
