Biography
Olesya V. Bracey is an attorney in the firm’s Charleston, South Carolina, office. Her practice areas include general litigation, complex commercial litigation, and business tort litigation. Olesya represents corporate, institutional, and individual clients in a broad spectrum of litigation matters. Her experience includes handling the defense of colleges and universities in tuition refund class actions, trust and estate litigation, fiduciary and probate litigation, product liability defense, insurance coverage and bad faith claims, and complex construction defect claims. She also deals with disputes involving alleged breaches of contract and fiduciary duty, as well as various other commercial and business disputes in both state and federal courts and in arbitration. Prior to joining Gallivan White & Boyd, Olesya was a partner in the Charleston office of an Am Law 100 firm.
Olesya obtained her J.D. from the University of South Carolina School of Law, where she graduated second in her class as a member of the Order of the Coif and was named Clerk of Court of the Order of the Wig and Robe. While in law school, Olesya acted as Articles Editor of the South Carolina Law Review. She was also awarded seven CALI Excellence for the Future Awards in a variety of courses, including Products Liability, Discovery Practice, Evidence, and Civil Procedure II.
Prior to embarking on her journey in the legal profession, Olesya attended the University of South Carolina, where she graduated summa cum laude and received bachelor’s degrees in Political Science and French. While in college, she also participated in the summer study abroad program at Institut de Touraine in Tours, France.
In her free time, Olesya enjoys reading, traveling, biking, enjoying nature and everything Charleston has to offer, and spending time with her husband Raymon and their sassy and loyal Siamese cat Pushkin.
