Gray T. Culbreath Appointed President of SEABOTA
Columbia, S.C. – February 5, 2025 – Gallivan White & Boyd is proud to announce Gray T. Culbreath will serve as the President of the Southeastern American Board of Trial Advocates (SEABOTA) until the end of 2025.
SEABOTA is a regional chapter of the American Board of Trial Advocates (ABOTA) made up of 13 chapters from across the Southeast. It promotes ABOTA’s goal of preserving the Seventh Amendment, enhancing the honor of the legal profession and civility in the practice of law.
Gray T. Culbreath represents corporations, individuals and insurers in trials and appeals. For over 30 years, he has handled complex trials and appeals in federal and state courts across South Carolina. His career has taken him from Army courtrooms to almost every federal and state courthouse in South Carolina. Gray principally practices in the areas of commercial and class action litigation, including antitrust, product liability and mass tort, as well as claims of sexual misconduct.
Gray is a Fellow of the American College of Trial Lawyers. He has been recognized by numerous legal publications including Benchmark Litigation, Best Lawyers, Chambers USA and Super Lawyers. He has been named Lawyer of the Year for Bet the Company Litigation and Mass Tort Litigation/Class Actions by Best Lawyers. Locally, he has received numerous awards including the Gold Compleat Lawyer Award from the Joseph F. Rice School of Law at the University of South Carolina. Gray has been a leader within GWB, serving on its Executive Committee for years, as well as of organizations other than SEABOTA, including former president of the South Carolina Defense Trial Attorneys Association (SCDTAA). Gray’s insight and practical approach to leadership as well as his high ethical and technical standards in his practice of law make him an exceptional choice to lead SEABOTA during 2025.
